Impressive! Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone Shines at the "Forge Ahead in the New Era" Achievement Exhibition

In October 2022, the "Forge Ahead in the New Era" achievement exhibition officially opened at the Beijing Exhibition Center. In the Jiangsu exhibition area, a particularly striking photo on the display wall shows a wide road and many factories, which is the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone jointly developed and constructed by the Hongdou Group and Cambodian enterprises. This is also a key project for Jiangsu to "go global". It has been praised by national leaders as a "model of pragmatic cooperation between China and Cambodia" and praised by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen as a model of fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the "Belt and Road" initiative.
Over the past decade, the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone has seized the development opportunities of the "Belt and Road" initiative, adhered to the "win-win" concept of "winning together with shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, partners, government, environment, and society (community)", and made solid and impressive achievements through hard work and perseverance. Today, the special economic zone has attracted 170 enterprises (institutions) from China, Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia, and other countries and regions, creating nearly 30,000 jobs. It has been praised as the "engine" of local economic development and the "rice bowl" of the people. From January to August 2022, the total import and export volume of all enterprises in the zone reached 1.749 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 27.39%. This not only stabilizes employment but also injects strong momentum into the industrial and economic development of Cambodia in the post-pandemic era.
In the future, the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone will continue to promote the construction of a high-quality 2.0 upgrade version, with the goal of ultimately attracting 300 enterprises to settle in and creating an eco-friendly model industrial park with 80,000-100,000 industrial workers employed. It will become a project of mutual benefit, people's hearts, and a shining pearl on the "Belt and Road".
